This entry to the Arts Gallery & Performance events is a collection of artifacts collaboratively made with
young children as part of the Learning, Being, and Doing (LBD) in Families study. This submission
features summaries of three research artifacts co-created by children, parents, and uni-based researchers. There is an introduction to the LBD Study poster followed by three posters representing the three artifacts. These artifacts include: (A) Team Poof’s construction of cardboard, paper, marker, and tape creation meant to illustrate “perspective” in conversations; (B) Team Neuron to Something’s video co-created by a family and uni-researcher that could be shared in research presentations to introduce our shared work, and (C) Team Wonderland’s cardboard and paper representation of a family at a campfire with the imagined additions of a uni-based researcher’s two cats;. We will prepare accompanying story cards to elaborate on how each artifact represents a blending of child + parent + uni-based researchers’ repertoires. The co-created artifacts represent innovative co-research methodology for dissemination to audiences that matter to collaborative research teams, especially children.

The below posters will be shared on foamcore board at ISLS 2026 as a set of images representing making art with children for research and dissemination. Each of the boards has a link to this specific page, as well as one (the Edgier than Edgy poster from Team Neuron to Something) that also links to the video it summarizes.

Please note, the small black square to the right of the top line of images is where a physical attachment will be tied with string to a flip book allowing viewers to flip through the “It’s me! The Cheetah Owl Unicorn!” sequence as Cheetah Owl Unicorn runs and jumps towards the camera. Look for the image below (that’s the cover of the flipbook).
